Christian Education
Christian Education can be understood as part of broader Christian development. For young children, Sunday School provides an experience of Bible Stories, songs, and activities that introduce them to the Christian story. As they grow, and are interested in learning more about theology and the Christian faith, opportunities for youth groups become available. As adults, bible study and prayer groups offer the context for deepening and growing faith in the context of our secular and diverse world.
Sunday School
Sunday school is offered September through June, and responds each Sunday to the children attending worship. After the time with the children in the service, they retire to classrooms for child-centred stories, music, and activities linked both to the lectionary and to the worship themes that are part of adult worship. Opportunities for students to participate in worship services are provided periodically throughout the year.
Confirmation of Faith/Extended Adult Education
As individuals respond to God’s call, youth confirmation and adult confirmation studies are offered, as well as regular, but varied, bible study supporting the deepening understanding of scripture for all who are part of the community of faith in Streetsville United Church.
Church Library
A resource for all is the Church Library. Reference materials, theology, as well as devotional literature, current issues, and a broad base of Christian literature are available to both groups and individual study and learning.
