Welcome to Streetsville United Church
We are happy to have you join us for worship on Sundays at 10 am. We are an evolving diverse and welcoming community of faith who believe in the values of our faith, love for one another, and service to others.
Our services take place every Sunday in the Sanctuary, and usually last about an hour. You can sit wherever you are most comfortable. As you enter the sanctuary you will be handed a bulletin that outlines the service, as well as announcements about upcoming events.
The service is comprised of call to worship, prayer, singing, children’s time, and a sermon. After the service, please join us in the auditorium for refreshment and fellowship.
Prayers & Hymns
During the service, there will be prayers and hymns. Some prayers are solely recited by the minister marked as “One”, while others are a choral recitation and usually recorded in bold and marked as “Many”.
Most of the hymns used in the service are from the United Church of Canada hymn book Voices United (VU). The hymn numbers are listed in the bulletin e.g. Hymn VU 389 God is Here. Some hymns are also used from the latest United Church hymnal ‘More Voices’ which can be found online and are printed in the bulletin. These songs are often printed in the bulletin. If other sources of hymns are used, they will be printed in the bulletin usually in a separate sheet.
Hymn books and a bible are available at each pew in a holder. If you are able, you are invited to stand for the hymns. There is also a blue folder with songs that are sung by our Boomer Band.
Children
At Streetsville United Church, we cherish our young worshippers! Each service includes a special Children’s Time, where:
Children are invited to gather at the front pews for an interactive, age-appropriate message from our Minister.
The message connects with the day’s worship theme in fun, engaging ways. After this time, children may join our Sunday School teachers for:

✓ Songs & crafts
✓ Lessons that mirror the adult sermon
Offering
The offering plates will be passed during the service. If you would like to make a donation, you can place your offering in the plate, but don’t feel obligated. Offering envelopes are also available in the pews or can be found on the welcome table in the lobby/narthex. There are additional means for donations including electronic processes.
